The 2nd China InterPore Conference on Porous Media & the 4th International Conference on Digital Core Analysis was successfully held during the 9th-10th of July 2018 in China University of Petroleum (UPC), Qingdao, China. This conference was organized by InterPore China Chapter and Research Centre of Multiphase Flow in Porous Media of UPC. The chair of InterPore China Chapter and vice president of UPC Prof. Jun Yao chaired the event and gave a general introduction on InterPore China Chapter development and China University of Petroleum. This was followed by a presentation of InterPore introduction by Oleg Iliev. This was an outstanding meeting with more than 120 participants. The conference invited 15 researchers from United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and Australia, including four USA National Academy of Engineering member. 27 scientific oral presentations followed by discussions and 50+ posters were given during the two days. The topics cover many aspects of porous media, including machine learning in the subsurface, multi scale simulation, fluid flow in unconventional reservoirs, applications in reservoir engineering, digital rock physics, numerical methods, reactive transport, experimental works, electrochemical devices, etc.
