Shandong Provincial Administration Bureau recently released appraisal result of Mountain Tai Scholar. Three UPC professors won this honor, including Prof. Zhiyuan Wang of the school of petroleum engineering, Prof. Xiyou Li from the school of science, and Prof. Mingbo Wu from the school of chemical engineering.

Zhiyuan Wang, a professor and PhD supervisor, has long been engaged in the research for solving difficulties concerning complicated multiphase flow in deepwater gas wellbore. He developed the mechanism of multiphase flow transformation and establsihed multiphase flow model for gas hydrate and critical phase change. His well-control calculation method has been applied in over 30 oil fileds. He ever undertook 10 projects of various level and published 90 papers.
