Haofang,the new president of UPC, Zhaomin Li, vice president, and some directors from various departments of UPC, came to our school to meet our prefessors and visit the labs on Feb. 21, 2017. Zhaomin Li chaired the meeting, he said that this visit aims to find the major problems and ways to correct them after comparing with the similar international colleges in terms of lab and team construction for highly telented personnel and young back-up talents.
Prof.Baojiang Sun gave a warm welcoming speech and a presentation about the status of the school of petroleum engineering. In his presentation he introduced the school organization, subjuct disciplines, scientific research teams, major research projects, international cooperation, and lab construction. By making comparison with other equivalent universities, he pointed out the differences from these universities. He thought future work should be focused on creating denser research atmosphere, increasing the number of first class research teams, and strenthening international cooperation.
Haofang took notes at the meeting and would like to take the constructive suggestions that help in developing our school to a even higher level.
