The China ministry of science and technology recently released the names of 307 candidates of 2015 meddle-aged innovative leading talents, prof. Hou Jian is elected to be one of them.
    Prof. Hou has long engaged in the researches of EOR and oil and gas flow through porous media. He established the method of experiment and simulation of micro-scale oil and gas flow through porous media which provides theoretical basis and technology for EOR with combination chemical flooding and thermal chemical flooding. Great economic profits have been achieved by three national oil companies due to his recovery. 
   Prof. Hou undertook 30 projects over the past five years, which include 6 national projects. He won one second prize of national science and technology advancement, one first prize and four second prizes of ministry level. He held 15 innovative patents and published over 50 papers in some major science journals.
