On April 12 a ceremony was held in Daqing Oil Field for naming one asteroid after Demin Wang, the alumni of our school. Demin Wang is an academician of Chinse Academy of Engineering, and the founder of the technology of selective reservoir development and chemical flooding applied in China oil fields. Thanks to this technology, Daqing Oil Field’s crude production was increased dramatically. He was thus honored by SPE as Outstanding Member and Lifetime Membership.  The international asteroid naming center officially approved that the asteroid of no. 210231 is named as Demin Wang asteroid for his contribution to the world petroleum development technology.
    At the ceremeny, Wang gave a speech and said that he is 80 years old and still concerns Chinese petroleum industry, and will continue to make contribution to this field.
