The SPE Artificial Lift Conference was held in Salvador of Brazil on May 27 of 2015. Prof. Wang Haiwen attended this conference and delivered a presentation entitled Design and Application of Multiphase Sucker Rod Pumps in Wells with High Gas-Oil Ratios. Following the conference, he visited the petroleum engineering lab located in Bahia University, and Rio Industrial Zone.
An artificial lift system consists of technologies and components, including various downhole pumping systems and methods, surface controls, monitoring and automation systems, deployment methodologies, and production optimization practices. In addition, reservoir studies, well design, construction, and maintenance play critical roles in the overall success of the entire artificial lift system.
This conference combines all aspects of the artificial lift system and all the interrelated components and methodologies, thereby allowing participants to see the full interactive circle of technologies and competencies. The participants come from many famous companies, such as Schlemburger, Baker Hughes, Weatherford, etc.
