Invited by our research center of oil and gas through porous media, Prof. Michael Sukop of Florida International University (FUI) arrived at our university on March 11 for academic exchange. He delivered a presentation entitled 21st Century Modelling Tool and Application to the Biscayne Aquifer of Southeast Florida for our teachers and students. Huang Haibo, one of our PhD students, gave a lecture of Lattice Boltzmann Methods for Multiphase Flows and Fluid-Structure Interaction Problems. After presentations, the participants held a discussion about the application of Boltmann method to the oil field development.
Prof. Michael Sukop also paid a visit to the lab of the reserach center, and met Prof. Yao Jun, who introduced the our university and school of petroleum engineering, and his lasted research work. Both parties reached a common view on future cooperation of postgraduate education, mutual exchange of visiting scholars, and joint undertaking of scientific researches.
