The 2nd SPE International Heavy Oil Conference and Exhibition (HOCE) was held in Kuwait on Dec. 8-10, 2014. Hao Liu, a postgraduate of the school of petroleum engineering attended this conference and delivered an academic presentation entitled Oil Recovery of Heavy Oil by Displacing Agent/Foam assisted Steam Flooding, Lab Experiments, Numerical Studies and Field Performances. He also introced the lastest research achievements in heavy oil development.
HOCE centers on the theme of exploring, developing, producing and marketing heavy oil, which attracted some 280 attendance from Schlumberger, Chevron, Baker Hughes, Shell, Halliburton, University of Alberta, Austin University, etc. Some latest technologies of heavy oil recovery were also exhibited during the meeting.
This is the first time for our postgraduate to attend HOCE, which will be conducive to his understanding of the latest development and direction in this field.
