Seeking Tighter Cooperations with CNOOC and SINOPEC

A delegation of 11 members, led by Baojiang Sun, the Dean of the School of Petroleum Engineering, and Yefei Wang, the vice-Dean, recently paid a visit to the CNOOC research institute and the SINOPEC engineering institute to seek more and tighter cooperations in the research fields.The talks with the experts of these two institiutes concerns the topics of Deepwater Drilling and Competion Technology, Wellbore Mechanics, Deepwater Cementing, and Development of Gas Hydrate.
Baojiang Sun gave a detailed introduction to our research strenght on these fields. Following the introduction, several presentations were delivered by the delegation. Both CNOOC and SINOPEC understand more about our researching capability from the meetings and hope more and more joint research projects can be undertaken in the foreseeable future to solve the problems arisen from development of tight reservoir, heavy oil production, deepwater drilling and production, and ERD. All parties agree to establish the longstanding cooperation ties and provide necessary supports for the faculty exchange and students training in terms of funds and research facilities. The visit, as summarized by Baojiang Sun, brings closer relationship with these two institutes, deepens the mutual understanding, and broadens the visions.
