On May 27 through 30, the 6th international conference of flow through porous media was held in the University of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. About 300 experts all over the world in this field attended this conference, among them are Yao Jun, Zhang Kai, Sun Zhixue and Wang Yueying from China University of Petroleum. Sun Zhixue delivered a presentation entitled Tight sand gas reservoirs microscopic pore structure characteristics and numerical simulation. and Wang Yueying gave a presentation entitled Numerical simulation of two phase flow in hydraulically fractured horizontal well based on discrete fracture model.
Prof. Yao Jun met and held talks with professors and experts from Colorado School of Mines, Stanford Universities, and Exxon Mobil, etc., gave them a detailed introduction on the current research work conducted in his research center and proposed suggestions on the future cooperation in this field with these organizations.
In view of the prominent achievements of Prof. Yao Yun, he is elected as an organization committee member of international conference on flow through porous media, and will be invited to deliver a major presentation in plenary session of 7 th international conference to be held in the University of Padua, Italy.
