On June 5, Prof. Subhas N. Shah from the University of Oklahoma gave a presentation entitled Development of Shale Gas Reservoirs to our students. In his presentation, Prof. Shah briefed the shale gas distribution throughout the world and the latest development of completion and stimulation technology for developing shale gas reservoirs. As for fracturing technique, he stressed on the development of fracturing fluid and propants, and their field applications. He expressed his own ideas and suggestions concerning the opportunity and challenge faced by China in developing shale gas. Following the presentation, he answered various questions asked by our students. During his stay in UPC, Prof. Shah also gave a lesson to our graduate student on rheology.
Prof. Subhash N.Shah has been worked with the University of Oklahoma since 1994, and is the director of Well Construction Center. He used to be a senior engineer in Halliburton before working for University of Oklahoma.
