Recently the Fifth UPC Petrobowl Competition was held in South Teaching Building. Three professors from the school of petroleum engineering acted as jury panel. The champion was won by the international team led by Lamech.

The evevt includes preliminary and final, which attracted more than one hundred students. 32 students and 8 teams reached the final. The competition adopts the same rules as the official Petrobowl, which covers basic concepts of petroleum industry, engineering methods and petroleum development. All teams presents excellent performence with their solid professional foundation.

Yongfei Yang, one of the jury panel, gave the closing speech, saying such activity is of utmost sigificance in terms of strengthening professional knowledge and opening international horizon. He encourges the students to spend more time on English study and build up solid professional knowledge.

Petrobowl is hosted every year by SPE for young petroleum engineerers. Our university has participated in this event for four years in a row and reached the final for three times.
