By Aug. 20th, 2021, the evaluation results of the 2021 NSFC projects were announced, and 25 projects of our institute were funded with a direct funding of 17.24 million RMB, with an overall funding rate of 28.74%.

The funded projects included 1 key international (regional) cooperative research project, 1 key project, 1 outstanding young scientist fund project, 13 general projects, and 9 young scientist fund projects. The funding rate of general projects was 28.26%, and the funding rate of youth fund projects was 39.13%.

The funded key international (regional) cooperative research project is New type of high temperature resistant polymer fracturing fluid and temperature resistance and resistance reduction mechanism by Prof. Caili Dai, which is the first key international (regional) cooperative research project applied and established by our university as a supporting unit. This project is also the first key international (regional) collaborative research project applied and established by our university as the dependent unit. The key project is Efficient and effective method and mechanism of salt-tolerant amphiphilic polymeric supramolecular inclusion oil drive system by Prof. Wanli Kang. The Outstanding Young Scientist Fund project is Multi-scale Oil and Gas Seepage Mechanics by Assoc. Prof. Hai Sun.

The projects (funding rate) of each research institute are as follows: 2 projects (20%) from the Institute of Oil and Gas Well Engineering, 3 projects (25%) from the Institute of Oil and Gas Extraction Engineering, 4 projects (17%) from the Institute of Oil and Gas Reservoir Engineering, 10 projects (45%) from the Institute of Oil and Gas Field Chemistry, 3 projects (33%) from the Institute of Marine Oil and Gas and Hydrate, 2 projects (50%) from the Institute of Intelligent Oil and Gas Field, and 1 project from an off-campus unit.

With the announcement of the results of the centralized declaration projects in 2021, the declaration work of the fund for the new year has also started. The School will continue to strengthen the organization of the declaration work through the active organization of the application pre-evaluation, pre-defense and other ways to improve the quality of the fund declaration. The research institutes and teachers should enhance their sense of mission, plan early, prepare early, and strive to improve the quantity and quality of declaration; the teams and senior professors should enhance their sense of responsibility, actively play a leading role, actively organize high-level project teams, broaden the types of declaration, make a breakthrough in major key projects, promote the school's fund work to a new level, and help the university double first-class discipline construction.
