Biography:

Xingru Wu, Associate Professor, Department of Petroleum and Geological Engineering, University of Oklahoma, graduated from University of Petroleum (East China) in 1997 with a major in oil recovery engineering, University of Alaska in 2002 with a master's degree in petroleum engineering, and University of Texas (Austin) in 2006 with a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering. From 2005 to 2012, he worked as a reservoir engineer for BP, where he was involved in chemical drive enhanced recovery studies, development of condensate fields in the Rocky Mountains, and development of deepwater fields in the Gulf of Mexico. He is the 2020-2021 SPE Distinguished Lecturer. His main research areas include development of unconventional oil and gas fields, fluid analysis and flow assurance, geothermal resource development, reservoir numerical simulation and reservoir description, etc. He has in-depth research on the development history and development trend of deepwater oil and gas development technology in the Gulf of Mexico, and has rich experience in ultra-deepwater geoengineering integration technology, intelligent extraction technology, and fractured completion technology.
