On June 28th, the 2023 (Inaugural) Academic Report Meeting of the Chinese Petroleum Society Fellows was held in Beijing. Zhang Guihua, a member of the Party Group of the China Association for Science and Technology and Secretary of the Secretariat, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Jiao Fangzheng, Chairman of the Chinese Petroleum Society, Li Luguang, Vice Chairman, Jia Chengzao, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Liu He, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, also attended the meeting.

  The Decision on Awarding the 2023 Chinese Petroleum Society Fellows was announced at the meeting. 29 academicians from the two academies in the petroleum and petrochemical industry, including Academician Hao Fang, were recognized as Fellows of the Chinese Petroleum Society; Professor Yao Jun and 10 other outstanding experts were elected as Fellows of the Chinese Petroleum Society.

   Zhang Guihua and Jiao Fangzheng presented certificates to the recognized Fellows and the first batch of elected Fellows. Following the certificate presentation ceremony, seven Fellows representatives, including Professor Yao Jun, delivered academic reports. 

  The title of Fellow of the Chinese Petroleum Society is the highest academic honor for members of the Chinese Petroleum Society, representing a lifelong honor, with nominations and selections taking place every two years. The selection of the first batch of Fellows in this round was carried out in accordance with the Regulations on Fellows of the Chinese Petroleum Society and the Implementation Measures for the Selection of Fellows of the Chinese Petroleum Society. The selection process involved nominations and selections by branch organizations, local societies, unit members, evaluation by the Fellows Selection Committee, approval and public announcement by the Third Meeting of the Tenth Executive Council of the Chinese Petroleum Society, ultimately confirming the recipients.

  Representatives from various branch organizations, local societies, and unit members of the Chinese Petroleum Society, as well as over a hundred staff members from the society's administrative office, attended the meeting.
