On the afternoon of July 14th, a team led by Chief Scientist Chen Jianwen from the Qingdao Institute of Marine Geology visited our institute for technical exchange. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Yang Yongfei, with teams from the Oil and Gas Exploitation Engineering Institute, the Oil and Gas Reservoir Engineering Institute, and the Oil and Gas Well Engineering Institute in attendance.
Yang Yongfei warmly welcomed Chen Jianwen and his team, providing an overview of our institute's recent developments in disciplines, high-level talent cultivation, research platform construction, major research projects, and achievement awards. He expressed hope for enhanced collaboration in the field of CCUS, including joint research efforts, platform sharing, and collaborative talent development, to leverage mutual strengths.
Chen Jianwen presented the progress of carbon sequestration in the field of marine geology, aiming to deepen mutual understanding through this exchange and create opportunities for collaboration in CCUS between both parties, laying a foundation for further cooperation. Deputy Director Qi Jun from the Science and Technology Department of the Qingdao Institute of Marine Geology introduced the institute's background, research directions, and significant achievements.
Professors Li Songyan, Yuan Bin, Sun Renyuan, and Yang Yongfei discussed various topics such as CO2 EOR and sequestration in different types of oil reservoirs, enhanced system for CO2 EOR and injection optimization control, and pore-scale CO2 capture mechanisms based on digital rock technology. They presented the team's research progress and distinctive achievements in the field of CCUS.
