On September 26th, the signing and unveiling ceremony of the Ultra-Deep Wellbore Work Fluid Technology Joint Research and Development Center between Sinopec Shengli Petroleum Engineering Co., Ltd. and China University of Petroleum (East China) was held at our university.

Vice President Dai Caili, Director of the Major Projects Office of the Science and Technology Department Wang Zhiyuan, Dean of the School of Petroleum Engineering Hou Jian, Professor Lv Kaihe from the School of Petroleum Engineering, Vice General Manager and Party Committee Member Ge Lei from Sinopec Shengli Petroleum Engineering Company, Vice Chief Economist and Director of the Party Committee Organization Department and Manager of the Human Resources Department Zhang Xiaogang, Party Secretary and Deputy Manager Cui Zhiqiang from the Drilling Fluid Technology Service Center, and other relevant personnel attended the ceremony.

Vice President Dai Caili welcomed Vice General Manager Ge Lei and his delegation to the university, introducing the university's development history and outstanding achievements in recent years. She stated that by complementing each other's strengths through the collaboration between Shengli Engineering Company and China University of Petroleum (East China), they will effectively promote the integration of theory and practice, bridge the last mile of results transformation, achieve joint tackling of difficult problems, and unite a talent team in ultra-deep wellbore work fluid that is cross-fused, synergistically innovative, and internationally top-notch.

Vice General Manager Ge Lei congratulated China University of Petroleum (East China) on its 70th anniversary and thanked the university for its long-term care, support, and affection towards Shengli Engineering. He introduced the recent development of Shengli Engineering Company and expressed hope that this establishment of the joint research and development center would serve as an opportunity for both parties to fully leverage their respective strengths, jointly build a bridge for innovative practices, create a platform for results transformation, and maintain a bond for talent cultivation. He aims to make the joint research and development center a typical practical case of school-enterprise cooperation to ensure national energy security.

The Ultra-Deep Wellbore Work Fluid Technology Joint Research and Development Center unveiled this time relies on the Drilling Fluid Technology Service Center of Shengli Petroleum Engineering Company and the team led by academician Sun Jinsheng from China University of Petroleum (East China). It will focus on ultra-deep wellbore work fluid technology, conduct joint scientific research and field experiments, strengthen talent cultivation and technical exchanges, solve key technical problems in wellbore work fluid, and jointly provide technical support for ultra-deep oil and gas exploration and development.
