To accelerate the implementation of the talent development strategy in the new era and thoroughly implement the talent strengthening strategy of the institute to promote sustainable high-quality development, the talent recruitment team consisting of Professors Liao Hualin, Zhang Liming, and Yao Chuanjin visited the UK from July 9th to 13th to carry out talent recruitment activities.

During their visit to the UK, the talent recruitment team visited renowned universities such as the University of Leeds, the University of Glasgow, and the University of Birmingham. They conducted three overseas talent negotiation meetings, actively promoting and interpreting the talent recruitment policies of the school and the institute, engaging in discussions with numerous overseas scholars interested in joining the institute. Following the discussions, our institute reached agreements with the aforementioned three universities to establish a talent recruitment workstation for the School of Petroleum Engineering at China University of Petroleum (East China) and appointed Professors Li Yongliang, Wang Xuezhong, and Lu Yiji as part-time recruitment officers for our institute.
After the meetings, the overseas talent recruitment team visited the laboratories at the University of Glasgow, where they discussed carbon storage research areas with young overseas talents, laying the groundwork for future scientific research cooperation between the two universities.
This overseas talent recruitment activity marks the first offline overseas talent recruitment event organized by the institute in three years, aiming to seize talent recruitment opportunities, broaden talent recruitment channels, attract outstanding overseas talents, continuously enhance the institute's reputation and influence among overseas scholars, and has achieved positive feedback and outstanding results.In the next steps, the institute will continue to maintain communication with overseas talents, fully leverage the role of the talent recruitment workstation, sincerely attract and accurately cultivate talents, expand the circle of talent friends, and support the high-quality development of the institute.
2023 is designated as the Talent Strategy Year for the institute, with the implementation of the Three-Year Action Plan for Talent Strengthening Strategy in the School of Petroleum Engineering (2023-2025). This plan aims to implement the school's accelerated implementation of the talent development strategy in the new era, following the principles of actively recruiting, vigorously cultivating, continuous support, effective incentives, and follow-up services.
