To strengthen the cooperation between the university and enterprises, and promote the integration of production, study, and research, our college held the "'Research Institute-University' 2023 Science and Technology Exchange Conference" with the Shengli Oilfield Branch Exploration and Development Research Institute in Qingdao on July 22-23. Han Zhenlong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Shengli Oilfield Branch Exploration and Development Research Institute, Zhang Shiming, Dean, Cao Xiaopeng, Vice Dean, Dai Caili, Vice President, former Vice President Professor Yao Jun, Hou Jian, Dean, Vice Dean Yang Yongfei, and other research personnel from both units attended the meeting.
Dai Caili delivered the opening speech, warmly welcoming the delegation from the Shengli Oilfield Branch Exploration and Development Research Institute. She reviewed the good communication mechanisms between the two parties since the first academic exchange conference held in 2010, as well as the achievements in the deep cooperation in research cultivating industry academia. She introduced the current situation of the national key laboratory for deep oil and gas and hoped that both parties could maintain close communication and cooperation. In response to the technical blockade issues faced by oil fields in high-temperature, high-pressure, high-salinity reservoir development, collaborative research and cooperation were proposed to jointly contribute to the country's energy strategy.
Han Zhenlong expressed gratitude to the university and college, stating that the research institute has maintained a good cooperative relationship with our college for a long time. Through technical exchanges and deepened cooperation, the two parties have created a model project of complementary advantages and win-win cooperation between the research institute and university. In terms of collaborative education, practical cooperation has also been carried out. Since signing the agreement to establish a joint training base in 2019, the research institute and our university have conducted joint training for multiple batches of students. This offline exchange marks a new starting point after 4 years for the two parties to revisit their cooperative friendship and embark on a new chapter of collaboration.
The conference was chaired by Hou Jian, Dean of our institute, and Zhang Shiming, Dean of the Exploration and Development Research Institute. The meeting focused on 20 exchange reports on seven strategic cooperation agreements between the university and enterprises in the fields of oil and gas reservoir flow mechanisms, water flooding development, chemical flooding, heavy oil development, etc. Both parties engaged in detailed discussions on physical experiments, numerical simulations, development mechanisms, big data, results transformation and commercialization, laboratory construction, joint cultivation of major projects, and student training.
Participants believed that the conference was well-prepared, with detailed and innovative reports that deepened mutual understanding of technological innovations in various fields, paving the way for future cooperative development. To meet the development needs of the Shengli Oilfield industry, both parties will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation in basic research, technological innovation, results promotion, and talent cultivation. We will adhere to problem-oriented approaches, focus on key core technologies in technical blockades, design and plan the top-level strategies for both parties' strategic cooperation, enhance joint efforts in tackling key core technology challenges, strengthen laboratory construction and sharing, maximize complementary advantages, and achieve win-win cooperation. We will continue to create new mechanisms for school-enterprise cooperation, new models for collaborative education, endow school-enterprise cooperation with new connotations, and further promote the high-quality development of both parties.
Our college and the Shengli Oilfield Branch Exploration and Development Research Institute have a long-standing friendly cooperative relationship and possess a large number of high-level theoretical and technical experts as well as multiple high-level research institutions in the field of oil and gas field development engineering. Since signing a comprehensive cooperation agreement in 2010, the two parties have conducted fruitful cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, social services, and have achieved substantial results. The biennial Research Institute-School exchange mechanism provides a platform for targeted cooperation between the two parties.
