Recently, the Office of the National Science and Technology Academic Works Publishing Fund Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology announced the results of the evaluation of the 2023 National Science and Technology Academic Works Publishing Fund projects. Professor Hou Jian from our college's application for the project "Theory and Methods of Natural Gas Hydrate Reservoir Development Engineering" was approved for funding. This work is the only monograph in the field of oil and gas development to receive funding this year.

The authors of Theory and Methods of Natural Gas Hydrate Reservoir Development Engineering include Professor Hou Jian and Associate Professor Liu Yongge, and it is planned to be published by the Science Press. The book focuses on the characteristics of natural gas hydrate reservoir development technology, systematically elaborating on the phase transition seepage and development dynamic characteristics of natural gas hydrates based on theory and trial data. It establishes an analysis and simulation optimization method for natural gas hydrate reservoir development engineering and proposes a new method for intensified pressure reduction in natural gas hydrate reservoirs. The work fully integrates the authors' latest research achievements in recent years, organically combining seepage theory, engineering methods, and new development technologies, demonstrating timeliness, advancement, theoretical depth, comprehensiveness, and systematicity.

The National Science and Technology Academic Works Publishing Fund was established in 1997, funded by the national treasury, with the aim of supporting fundamental, forward-looking, and strategic scientific and technological academic works, promoting the prosperity of science and technology publishing, and advancing the implementation of the country's innovation-driven development strategy. The fund accepts applications once a year, and in 2023, a total of 200 projects were funded.
