Four Students From Our College Have Received Funding from The China Scholarship Council's High-Level Talent Study Abroad Support Program to Study in Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus

    Recently, the China Scholarship Council announced the results of the 2024 High-Level Talent Study Abroad Support Program for Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. Our college's Petroleum Engineering students Chen Jie, Wang Yahua, Lei Tianmeng, and Zhang Yuanhang successfully passed the expert review and obtained the qualification to study as joint doctoral students abroad. They will be studying at Lomonosov Moscow State University (also known as Moscow University) in Russia starting in September 2024. This approval marks the first time that students from our university have received support from the High-Level Talent Study Abroad Support Program for Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.

    In order to focus on and strengthen cooperation and talent cultivation in basic disciplines and key core technology fields with Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus, the China Scholarship Council selects outstanding young scholars with outstanding research capabilities and development potential through the High-Level Talent Study Abroad Support Program to study in the aforementioned countries. The program is open for application in January each year, with the results announced in February. The categories for selection include doctoral degree pursuit and joint doctoral student training. The selected disciplines are limited to advantageous science and engineering disciplines in Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. This program is the highest-level scholarship program in the China Scholarship Council's study abroad programs in Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus, and the China Scholarship Council provides funding according to the standards of senior research scholars. For doctoral students, tuition assistance is provided.

    Lomonosov Moscow State University, founded in 1755 by the Russian educationist Mikhail Lomonosov, is the largest and oldest comprehensive research university in the Russian Federation, and is one of the top institutions in Europe and the world. Moscow University has produced 13 Nobel Prize winners and 6 Fields Medalists. Our university signed a cooperation agreement with Moscow State University in 2023 to carry out joint training of high-level talents in fields such as Petroleum Engineering and Earth Sciences.
