From October 17 to 18, the first China-Brazil Marine Science and Technology Innovation Forum sponsored by China Offshore Oil Group Co., Ltd. was successfully held in Beijing. The forum aims to promote in-depth exchanges and cooperation between China and Brazil in scientific and technological innovation and technology application in the field of marine energy. More than 100 experts and scholars in the energy field from China and Pakistan conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on cutting-edge technologies and scientific research results such as ocean energy exploration and development, engineering equipment, etc. Professor Yao Jun and Associate Professor Fu Guangming of our college were invited to participate in the forum.

Yu Jin, Deputy General Manager of China CNOOC, presided over the opening ceremony of the forum. The heads of the National Natural Science Foundation Committee, the National Energy Agency, the Brazilian National Petroleum Administration, the Brazilian Oil and Gas Management Company under Salt, and Petrobras made speeches at the opening ceremony. Academician Zhou Shouwei, Xie Yuhong, Zhang Laibin, Sun Youhong and Ou Jinping of China Academy of Engineering, academic backbone of 111 Innovation and Intelligence Introduction Base of Offshore Oil and Gas Engineering of our school, Professor Segen Farid Estefen, academician of Brazilian Academy of Engineering and Academy of Sciences, were invited to attend this forum and give keynote speeches.

Professor Yao Jun made a report entitled Research Progress of Numerical Simulation of Carbonate Reservoir, introducing the latest research achievements of our school in the field of numerical simulation of oil and gas reservoir to the experts at home and abroad attending the meeting, which aroused widespread attention and enthusiastic response.
