[Our website news] On February 10, the 2021 petroleum engineering undergraduate and graduate integrated class Sinopec Service professional internship summary and seminar was held in Tanggu. Wang Tao, Vice President of the Research Institute of Sinopec Service Oilfield Production Division, Dong Yanbing, and 6 directors of research institutes attended, with Professor Zhang Weidong and Associate Professor Shixian from our college participating.

  Professor Zhang Weidong first made a summary of the professional internship of the 2021 petroleum engineering undergraduate and graduate integrated class, sincerely thanking the enterprise for the tremendous efforts made to ensure the successful completion of the first professional internship at Sinopec Service. In the next step, we will adhere to the principle of continuous improvement, solve the existing shortcomings, form a good interaction, and truly realize the implementation and deepening of the integration of production and education.

  During the meeting, both parties engaged in lively discussions and formed an educational path that promotes the integration of production and education through internships, reaching a consensus on the continuous improvement of internships by 2025: before the internship, the company lists research topics for students who wish to participate in the internship to choose according to their own interests and research directions; during the internship, students who have taken the banner and led the charge are deeply involved in the research under the joint guidance of on-site instructors and school-based mentors; after the internship, students will bring the research topics they have studied during the internship into the graduation design stage, further improving and deepening the research of the topics according to the requirements of the graduation design, in order to form research results with innovation and practical value, laying a solid foundation for their future career development.

  China National Offshore Oil Corporation Service Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as CNOOC Service) is a well-known comprehensive oilfield service supplier with first-class technical service capabilities and leading scientific research and researching capabilities. On May 23, 2024, the Discipline Construction and Joint Innovation Center of China University of Petroleum (East China) - CNOOC Service (hereinafter referred to as the Joint Innovation Center) was signed and established on our campus. Our college relies on the Joint Innovation Center jointly built by both parties and has newly opened up the CNOOC Service internship base. From July 7 to July 20, 2024, led by Professor Zhang Weidong, 32 students from the 2021 undergraduate and graduate integrated class of the College of Petroleum Engineering participated in the first professional internship at CNOOC Service, striving to create a new model of production-education integration and joint education and training by enterprises, and continuously improve the quality of talent cultivation.
