[News from this site] Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, delivered an important speech at the Great Hall of the People on the morning of the 23rd when he received representatives of the participants in the lunar exploration project Chang 'e-6 mission. He stressed that the achievements of the lunar exploration project condensed the wisdom and painstaking efforts of several generations of Chinese astronauts, demonstrated from one side the remarkable achievements we have made in science and technology self-reliance over the years, and fully demonstrated the ambition, backbone and strength of China people. We should vigorously carry forward the lunar exploration spirit of pursuing dreams, bravely exploring, cooperating and winning together in the whole society, further enhance the national self-confidence and pride of all Chinese children, and gather the majestic power to comprehensively promote the construction of a powerful country and the great cause of national rejuvenation with China-style modernization.

He Huaiyu, an 89-grade oil production alumnus of our institute, attended the interview as the Chinese responsible person of Chang'e-6 Sino-French lunar radon measuring instrument.

He Huaiyu graduated from our institute in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in oil production engineering; obtained a master's degree from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) in 1998; and obtained a doctor's degree from Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001. Currently, he is a researcher of Institute of Geology and Geophysics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, director of Rare Gas Laboratory, director of Sino-French Joint Laboratory of Planetary Volatiles, vice chairman of EARTHTIME-CN, head of radon measurement load of Chang 'e-6 lunar surface of Sino-French cooperation, head of Chang' e-7 lunar soil volatile measuring instrument, head of Chang 'e-8 lunar surface sample analysis and storage device. He has been engaged in argon chronology and rare gas geochemistry for a long time. In 2008, he won the Hou Defeng Young Geochemist Award of China Mineral and Rock Geochemistry Society; in 2011, he won the Golden Hammer Award of China Geological Society; in 2014, he won the Outstanding Youth Fund of National Natural Science Foundation of China; in 2017, he won the Young and Middle-aged Science and Technology Innovation Leading Talent of Ministry of Science and Technology; and in 2021, he won the Ten Thousand Talents Plan Leading Talent of the Central Organization Department. In 2021, he served as Deputy Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the First Lunar Sample Expert Committee, and in 2023, he served as Deputy Editor of Journal of Asian Earth Science.

In May 2024, the radon load on the Sino-French lunar table was successfully started for the first time.
