In order to build the application ecology of domestic industrial software and promote the sustainable development of domestic reservoir numerical simulation software, on July 3, the school and China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute jointly held the opening ceremony of the first HiSim software design competition training on Building Industrial Software Application Ecology to Assist Green and Efficient Development of Oilfield.
Lv Weifeng, Vice President of China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute, Wu Shuhong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Artificial Intelligence Research Center of China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute, Lei Zhengdong, Secretary of the Party Committee of EOR Center of China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute, Jia Ninghong, Assistant Director of EOR Center of China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute, experts and scholars, Wang Xiaomei, Assistant President of China Petroleum University (East China), Hou Jian, President of Petroleum Engineering Institute, Qingdao Software Institute, Wu Chunlei, Vice President of School of Computer Science and Technology, some leading teachers of School of Petroleum Engineering were invited to attend, some members of SPE Student Branch of the school and more than 300 contestants from various colleges and universities participated online and offline simultaneously.

Speech by Lv Weifeng, Vice President of China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute
Lu Weifeng pointed out in his speech that HiSim4.0 multifunctional integrated reservoir numerical simulation software (HiSim) can enable petroleum engineers and scientists to endow design concepts and life through numerical simulation, and realize efficient and accurate simulation of physical phenomena in the field of petroleum engineering. In recent years, China University of Petroleum (East China) and China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute have exchanged visits closely and have a good foundation for cooperation. Both parties are committed to the development of this competition, which will promote software application and exchange learning in relevant fields and help technological research and development in the energy field to a new level.

In his speech, Wang Xiaomei welcomed and thanked China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute and all the participating teachers and students, briefly introduced the long-term cooperation achievements between the school and enterprise, affirmed the preparatory work of SPE Student Branch, and explained the importance of this competition. She said that the first HiSim software design competition is not only a grand gathering for software academic exchange, but also a platform to promote industrial software technology innovation and cooperation and exchange in the field of petroleum engineering. She hoped that the majority of students would actively participate in it and contribute wisdom and strength to the development of China's petroleum industry.

HiSim software is a multifunctional integrated reservoir numerical simulation software independently developed by HiSim team of Artificial Intelligence Research Center of China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute after 10 years of tackling key problems. It is one of the top ten scientific and technological innovation achievements of China Petroleum, breaking the passive situation that China petroleum development software has long relied on imports. The HiSim Software Design Competition is jointly sponsored by China University of Petroleum (East China) and China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute, and co-hosted by the SPE Student Branch of China University of Petroleum (East China) and the SPE Student Branch of China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute. In order to help competitors better understand and use HiSim software and improve pre-competition preparations, SPE Student Branch of China University of Petroleum (East China) and SPE Student Branch of China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute jointly prepared a 4-day HiSim software training course, and plan to officially launch the first competition in September. The competition attracted 198 teams and five teams from 16 well-known petroleum colleges, with a total of 510 players participating in the competition. The scale of the competition basically radiated to the whole country.
