Recently, Shandong Province announced the list of ideological and political demonstration courses in Shandong Province in 2024, and the course Petroleum Engineering Cognitive Practice of our institute was selected.

The course Cognitive Practice of Petroleum Engineering is led by Professor Zhang Liming of our school, and the team members include Qi Ning, Li Binfei, Zhang Weidong, Zhao Mingwei, Fan Dongyan, Xu Yuqiang, and Chen Dechun. The course focuses on the mission of educating people for the party and the country and the national energy security strategy, relying on the national first-class key disciplines, the double first-rate construction discipline and the A+ discipline of the Ministry of Education's discipline evaluation, and based on the important positioning of the course as the first course of the major in the petroleum engineering talent training system, the ideological and political elements are deeply integrated with the teaching process such as resource mining, content creation, method innovation, evaluation and assessment, etc., to create a panoramic ideological and political education model of travel, learning and exhibition. Realize the shaping of students' ideological and political values, promote ideological and political elements into the brain and heart, go deep and practical, and stimulate students' mission of serving the country with energy.

The Shandong Provincial Curriculum Ideological and Political Demonstration Project is an important task to comprehensively improve the quality of talent training, an important content of the high-quality education system, and an important starting point for the implementation of the fundamental task of cultivating morality.
