Hou Jian expressed his gratitude to CNOOC for its long-term support to the college, and said that in the future, he will further condense the frontier problems and common problems that urgently need to be solved in the discipline of rock and seepage mechanics, and strive for breakthroughs in the field of basic research through school-enterprise cooperation, so as to realize the development of discipline characteristics and serve oilfield production.
Sun Yongtao said that the Center has explored a new model of scientific research cooperation between enterprises and universities, and has achieved remarkable results with the joint efforts of both schools and enterprises in the past six months. In the follow-up, it is necessary to further clarify the direction of discipline construction, sort out the key scientific problems that need to be tackled in the direction of rock and seepage mechanics, and make due contributions to the self-reliance and self-improvement of petroleum science and technology.

With the goal of improving the cognitive ability of basic science, strengthening the reserve of forward-looking basic research, and promoting the balanced development of multiple specialties, China University of Petroleum (East China)-CNOOC Service Learning and Innovation Center takes rock mechanics and seepage mechanics as the main construction disciplines of the innovation center, and aims to build a three-dimensional industry-university-research-application alliance innovation system with the learning and innovation center as the first-level platform and the second-level discipline laboratory. Carry out long-term and stable cooperation in multiple dimensions such as talent training, realize the mutual promotion and common development of disciplines and industries, and achieve school-enterprise cooperation, industry-university win-win.
