[Report by our institute] Recently, the Shandong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security announced the final award list of the 2024 China·Shandong Doctor (Postdoctoral) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, where Zheng Junjie from our institute won the Gold Award and Liao Bo won the Silver Award.

Zheng Junjie, currently engaged in postdoctoral research at our institute's Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Postdoctoral Research Mobile Station, is a postdoctoral supervisor of Academician Sun Jinsheng. He has been engaged in the research of natural gas hydrate exploitation and hydrate carbon sequestration theory and methods for a long time, and is committed to the application of hydrate technology in the field of energy and environmental sustainable development. He has published 19 SCI journal papers as the first or corresponding author, including 15 papers in the top 15 of the Chinese Academy of Sciences area, 3 highly cited papers, and has won the Best Doctoral Thesis at the 10th International Hydrate Conference, the Outstanding Young Scholar of the American Chemical Society, the Outstanding Paper of the American Chemical Society, and the ExxonMobil Emerging Energy Researcher, etc. 

Liao Bo is currently engaged in postdoctoral research at our institute's Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Postdoctoral Research Mobile Station. His postdoctoral supervisor is Academician Sun Jinsheng, and he is mainly committed to the theory and technology research of intelligent drilling fluids for complex strata. He has presided over 4 projects, including the 76th batch of the National Postdoctoral Science Foundation general projects and the independent innovation scientific research program projects. He has participated in 6 projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation basic science center projects, major projects, and major scientific and technological projects of PetroChina, and undertook subtasks. In the past 3 years, he has published 14 SCI/EI indexed papers as the first or corresponding author, 6 papers in the top papers of the Chinese Academy of Sciences first area, and 1 ESI highly cited paper. He has been granted 5 Chinese invention patents, 1 US patent, and 9 software copyrights. He has won the second prize of the Invention and Entrepreneurship Award of the China Invention Association, the Outstanding Graduate of Shandong Province, the Outstanding Graduate Thesis of Graduate Students, and the National Scholarship. He serves as a youth editorial board member of the journal Advances in Geo-Energy Research.

Organized by Shandong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the competition, with the theme of attracting talents and leading the future, aims to focus on the attraction of young post-doctoral talents, promote the integration of industry-university-research and the transformation of scientific research results, cultivate a reserve army of young scientific and technological talents with international competitiveness, and build up momentum and empowerment for the development of new productive forces. The competition is divided into two phases: preliminary and final, and set up two categories, namely, the unveiling and leading competition (including talent attraction and technology research) and entrepreneurship competition. Each category is set up with six tracks, including new-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy and new materials, biomedicine and health, modern agriculture and food, and marine development and application; and each track is set up with two gold prizes, four silver prizes, and eight bronze prizes. Gold Prize Award 50,000 yuan, Silver Prize Award 20,000 yuan, Bronze Prize Award 10,000 yuan, while the person in charge of the project to obtain the Gold Prize Award directly issued the Shandong Huicai Card, to provide the province's 29 green channel services.
