On May 14, Huang Shengsong, chief expert of China National Petroleum Group Great Wall Drilling Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Great Wall Drilling), came to the institute for technical exchanges. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as technical progress such as profile control and water blockage, deepening school-enterprise cooperation, and looked forward to the new direction of the construction of the Belt and Road joint laboratory. More than 20 teachers and students, including Professor Dai Caili, Vice President of China University of Petroleum (East China), Professor Yang Yongfei, Vice Dean of the School of Petroleum Engineering, and Associate Professor Wang Xiaopu, Director of the International Affairs Office of the School of Petroleum Engineering, attended the meeting, and Yang Yongfei presided over the meeting.

In the context of the Belt and Road Initiative, the two sides should strengthen the integration of the Belt and Road Joint Laboratory. Through the platform of the joint laboratory, we will integrate the superior resources of both sides, focus on cutting-edge technical problems, carry out more in-depth scientific research cooperation, and provide strong technical support for the energy development of countries along the Belt and Road.

At the meeting, Peng Xianqiang, an engineer of Great Wall Drilling, systematically introduced the technical path and market prospect of the UAE's remaining oil potential tapping business; Professor Dai Caili's team shared the latest progress of Water Control and Oil Enhancement Technology for High Temperature and High Salt Oil and Gas Reservoirs, which has achieved remarkable application results in many domestic and foreign oilfields. The two sides had a heated discussion on technical difficulties, technical needs, and achievement transformation, and reached a preliminary consensus on the scientific research direction of the joint laboratory.
