The School of Petroleum Engineering of China University of Petroleum (East China) is one of the main departments established earlier in the school and has become an important base for the cultivation of petroleum engineering talents and scientific research in China. As an important base for talent training in the oil and gas industry, the college proposes to build a knowledge structure system and talent training program oriented to new business formats and cohesive connections, open up a new path for the reform of petroleum higher education, and explore a new direction for the cultivation of scientific and technological talents in the field of energy development in the future.

The college is deeply integrated with the national think tank of PetroChina and has established an interdisciplinary school-enterprise joint expert committee; Combined with the national energy strategic objectives, the development trend of the oil and gas industry and the frontier of disciplines, starting from the school's positioning, social needs and discipline characteristics, the knowledge structure system of undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees is constructed. Docking with the traditional segmented undergraduate and graduate training programs of this discipline, the curriculum is optimized synchronously during the training cycle of undergraduate, master's and doctoral programs, and the teaching plans, management models and operating systems of high-level colleges and universities at home and abroad in this field are used for reference, and the overall revision is carried out according to the requirements of the school, so as to form a revised workflow of the training program oriented to new formats and the connection of undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees.

At the same time, the college focuses on new fields and technologies in the oil and gas industry, optimizes and upgrades the course content by classification and level, and builds a three-level curriculum system that integrates undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees.
