On the morning of May 23, Associate Professor Valentin Morenov of the Institute of Petroleum Development of St. Petersburg Mining University and Associate Professor Li Yunpeng of the Mining Engineering Center were invited by the International Office to visit our institute and give a report. The report was co-chaired by Wang Xiaopu, Director of the International (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) Cooperation and Exchange Office of the School of Petroleum Engineering, and Li Yong, Director of the International Affairs Office of the School of Earth Sciences and Technology.

Valentin Morenov introduced the overview of the Arctic Science Center of St. Petersburg Mining University and the research progress of the center in gas hydrates, green drilling fluids, foam flooding, etc.; Li Yunpeng introduced the overview of the Mining Engineering Center of St. Petersburg Mining University and its research progress in the field of slow-slope coal seam mining, and introduced the internationalization work of the university as a liaison for international affairs.

During the Q&A session, teachers and students of the two institutes had in-depth exchanges with the visiting professors, learned more about the situation of studying and living in St. Petersburg, and discussed the possibility of scientific research cooperation and student exchanges between the two universities in the direction of masonry and geoscience.

Finally, the faculty and students of the school led Professor Morenov and Professor Li Yunpeng to visit the University History Museum and Block E Laboratory, and met with the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, and the Director of the School of International Education Huang Fang and Deputy Director Yu Jixian to discuss the situationDiscussions were held on the promotion of international cooperation between the two universities.
