Sun Jinsheng, academician of the China Academy of Engineering, pointed out in the popular science report Progress in Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutralization in Petroleum Industry that China needs to take Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought and the new energy security strategy of Four Revolutions and One Cooperation as the guide to realize the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutralization on schedule. Based on China's national conditions and resource endowment, we should adhere to the integrated development of oil and gas and new energy, adhere to the two-wheel drive of energy conservation and efficiency improvement, adhere to the two-end force of supply and consumption, and strengthen the top-level design. We will implement six key projects of energy conservation, carbon removal, innovation, efficiency improvement, emergency response and support, accelerate the transformation of energy consumption structure from one large and three small to three small and one large, build a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient smart energy system, and help the oil industry to continuously advance towards a high-quality development path of ecological priority, green and low carbon.

Famous experts from relevant scientific research institutes, societies and factories and mines in the energy field shared and communicated on the carbon peak and carbon neutralization progress of petroleum industry, global carbon policy system and trend, energy conservation and efficiency improvement of petroleum industry, integration of new energy and petroleum industry, natural carbon sink and artificial carbon sink, construction of zero carbon park, etc.
