Recently, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) announced that Professor Dai Caili of our school has won the SPE Distinguished Achievement Award for Petroleum Engineering Faculty in recognition of her outstanding contributions to teaching, research and talent training in the field of petroleum engineering. The award was established by the International Society of Petroleum Engineers in 1981. For nearly 20 years, there has been only one winner in the world every year. Professor Dai Caili became the first teacher and scholar in China to receive this honor.

Professor Dai Caili won SPE Petroleum Engineering Teacher Outstanding Achievement Award

Professor Dai Caili is a well-known expert in oilfield chemistry and enhanced oil recovery in China. For more than 30 years, he has devoted himself to material research and development, technical research and engineering practice in the fields of water control and oil increase in high water-cut old oilfields, unconventional oil and gas fracturing and stimulation, CCUS, etc. He has presided over 13 national scientific and technological key projects such as national key research and development, major scientific and technological projects, national fund priorities, etc. He has innovated and broken through the series of problems of high-quality chemical working fluid and equipment technology, and has developed different displacement media channeling channel regulation, temperature-resistant and salt-resistant gel dispersion system to control water and increase oil. Key technologies such as fracturing-energy enhancement-displacement integration and efficiency enhancement, core patent technology license 30 oilfield service companies, research results have been applied in 29 oil fields in China and 6 overseas oil fields, helping China to continue to be in the leading position in the world in this field. The first finisher won 1 second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, 10 first prizes of provincial and ministerial awards, National Innovation Award, Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Youth Award, China Youth Science and Technology Award, Sun Yueqi Energy Award, etc., and was selected as Elsevier Highly Cited Scholar and Global Lifetime Influential Scientist. Huang Danian led and approved the first teacher team of Shandong Province, cultivated the oilfield chemistry and enhanced oil recovery research innovation team with international influence. Up to now, 7 national talents, 146 postdoctoral students and graduate students have been introduced and trained, of which 20 have won national scholarships for graduate students and 37 have won national science and technology competition awards such as Challenge Cup.
