From July 5 to 6, the 7th International Symposium on Digital Core Analysis Technology and the 2025 Annual Meeting of China Branch of International Porous Media Association was held in our school. More than 100 experts and scholars from universities, scientific research institutes and oilfield units from China, the United States, Canada, Sweden, Britain, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and other countries attended the meeting.

Seventh International Symposium on Digital Core Analysis Technology Held
The seminar was sponsored by the Oil and Gas Permeation Research Center of our school and China InterPore Chapter of International Porous Media Association, and jointly organized by the National Key Laboratory of Deep Oil and Gas, China-Saudi Arabia Petroleum Energy Belt and Road Joint Laboratory, Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education of Intelligent Oilfield and Ningbo City Advanced Manufacturing Industry Simulation Key Laboratory. Professor yu liandong, assistant to the president, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Professor Abbas Firoozabadi, academician of the National Academy of Engineering and Rice University, gave a special lecture
Professor Abbas Firoozabadi, academician of National Academy of Engineering and Rice University, introduced the key mechanism of interfacial elasticity in fluid displacement process; Professor Hossein Hejazi, University of Calgary, Canada, introduced the experimental research results on the influence of caprock sealing ability and gas mobility in formation on hydrogen storage process; Professor Wang Moran, Tsinghua University, introduced the research progress of pore scale migration simulation in porous media; Professor Sun Shuyu, Tongji University, shared the efficient and accurate algorithm for solving two-phase flow problems at pore scale; Professor Yin Xiaolong, Ningbo Oriental University of Technology, introduced the research progress of phase behavior and fluid distribution in porous media. In addition, participants exchanged and discussed a series of 23 invited reports on digital core analysis technology, multi-scale flow simulation, multi-physical field seepage coupling, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and the latest progress of CCUS.

Participants exchanged views
Since 2012, the Oil and Gas Permeation Research Center of our university has held seven consecutive international seminars on digital core analysis technology. The seminar has gradually become a well-known academic brand, and has been continuously developed with the goal of constructing Gordon High-end Conference on Digital Core Technology of China Version, providing a platform for communication and cooperation for the development and application of digital core technology, and playing a promoting role in strengthening the opening and cooperation of relevant projects and the construction and development of relevant disciplines.
