On October 16, the 34th Sun Yueqi Energy Science and Technology Award Ceremony was held in Beijing, Professor Sun Baojiang of our college won the Sun Yueqi Energy Award, and made a report on Research Progress of Drilling Wellbore Multiphase Flow Theory and Well Control Technology, Zhuang Xinyu won the Sun Yueqi Outstanding Student Award, and alumnus Yang Liu won the Sun Yueqi Youth Science and Technology Award.

Professor Sun Baojiang won the Sun Yueqi Energy Award

Sun Baojiang has been engaged in the research and application of drilling wellbore multiphase flow and pressure control theory, technology and equipment research and application practice for nearly 40 years, and is a distinguished professor of Yangtze River Scholars, the chief scientist of the 973 project, a national model teacher, a member of the China Petroleum Society, a winner of the SPE Outstanding Member Award, and an expert enjoying special government allowances from the State Council. He presided over the creation of the supercritical-gas-liquid-solid multi-phase change multi-phase flow well control theory, developed the whole process of fine pressure-controlled drilling technology and well control hydraulic parameter design software, and jointly led the development of overflow early monitoring equipment, dynamic pressure drilling well control equipment and key pressure control drilling equipment, and made major breakthroughs in key technologies of accurate prediction and regulation of wellbore pressure, prevention and control of gas intrusion and well leakage, well surge and blowout pressure wells, and provided important technical support for the construction of deep-ground and deep-sea oil and gas fields. He has won 1 second prize of National Technological Invention Award, 1 second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, 9 first prizes of provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress awards, 1 SPE North Asia-Pacific Drilling Engineering Technology Award, and 1 Outstanding Engineer Award of China International Science Exchange Foundation.

Zhuang Xinyu, a 2022 doctoral student in the School of Petroleum Engineering, and a doctoral student jointly trained by the University of Alberta, Canada. Participated in 4 national projects, 2 enterprise unveiling and leading projects, and 1 UTAustin international cooperative scientific research project; He has authorized 5 invention patents, published 14 high-level journal articles at home and abroad, and 2 international conference papers, including 4 SCI Zone 1 Top papers as the first author; He won the provincial gold medal of Internet +, the provincial bronze medal of the Shandong University Student Innovation Competition, and the second prize of the China Petroleum Engineering Design Competition.

Yang Liu, graduated from our university in 2010 with a bachelor's degree; In the same year, he was admitted to our university majoring in oil and gas well engineering and obtained a master's degree in 2013. He is currently an associate professor at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), and has won the 34th Sun Yueqi Youth Award, the 2024 Elsevier Highly Cited Scholar, and the Youth Award of Green Mine. He has long been committed to rock mechanics in the field of coal seam/oil and gas reservoir exploitation, innovated the nanoscale scratching method of laminated rocks, and proposed bedding-matrix, cement-characterization method of mechanical parameter distribution in the transition zone of rock interface; The in-situ environmental core-scale scratch measurement equipment has been developed to realize the millimeter-level precision continuous profile characterization of mechanical properties, which can be used as an important supplement to the traditional rock mechanical scatter point parameter measurement. The in-situ measurement equipment of mine-scale scratches is invented, which realizes the evaluation of in-situ static rock mechanical parameters of the hole wall and improves the response accuracy of the logging curve.

The Sun Yueqi Energy Science and Technology Award includes the Energy Award, the Youth Science and Technology Award, as well as the Outstanding Student Award of Coal and Petroleum Colleges and Universities and the Hometown Education Award, which is one of the first batch of 26 social force awards approved by the National Science and Technology Award Office, and is judged and awarded once a year. This year's award ceremony awarded a total of 4 Sun Yueqi Energy Awards, 20 Youth Science and Technology Awards, 181 Outstanding Student Awards, and 8 Hometown Education Awards.
