On October 14, President Hou Jian and Party Secretary Wang Zhiyuan led a team to Sinopec Petroleum Engineering Technology Research Institute for school-enterprise cooperation and exchanges Vice Deans Jia Han, Zhang Liming, Guo Tiankui and others participated in the survey. This visit is an important measure for the college to deepen school-enterprise collaboration and promote the integration of industry, education and research, and it is also the first stop of the college's series of exchanges in Beijing.

Wang Minsheng, President of Sinopec Petroleum Engineering Technology Research Institute, met with Hou Jian and his entourage, and Zang Yanbin, Vice President presided over the meeting, and the participants of the institute included Tao Qian, manager of the Drilling Engineering Technology R&D Center, Yang Zhi, deputy manager of the Science and Technology Management Department, Xu Chunhu, deputy manager of the Oilfield Chemical Research Center, Gao Yuan, deputy manager of the Completion Engineering Technology R&D Center, and Liu Weidong, an expert of the institute.  

Special symposium

At the symposium, Hou Jian and Wang Zhiyuan first expressed warm congratulations to the two alumni deans Wang Minsheng and Zang Yanbin, who had recently taken office, and Vice Dean Zang Yanbin extended a warm welcome to the School of Petroleum Engineering. The two sides introduced the basic situation, development history and important research results of the unit. In the subsequent exchange session, several managers and experts from Sinopec Petroleum Engineering Technology Research Institute introduced the technical requirements in the fields of drilling, completion, oilfield chemistry and other fields, and the two sides conducted in-depth professional discussions.

Jia Han put forward cooperation suggestions on topics such as the construction of undergraduate internship practice bases and the innovation of school-enterprise collaborative education mechanisms; Guo Tiankui focused on the scientific research cooperation plan, including the cooperation idea of organizing enterprise research projects, jointly declaring major national key projects, and jointly applying for scientific and technological awards. Zhang Liming put forward specific implementation plans for the joint training mode of graduate students, the introduction and co-education mechanism of high-level talents, etc.; In his speech, Wang Zhiyuan systematically summarized the remarkable achievements of the academy in the innovation of talent training system, the construction of scientific research platforms and major technological breakthroughs in the field of oil and gas. He pointed out that the college has always adhered to serving the strategic needs of national energy, deepened education and teaching reform, and sent a large number of outstanding and high-quality talents to the industry.

Zang Yanbin put forward several suggestions and made preliminary arrangements for the later cooperation plan between the two sides, reviewed the good experience of studying at his alma mater, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the training of the School of Petroleum Engineering.

In his concluding speech, Hou Jian pointed out that this visit is an important practice for the college to actively practice the development concept of open education and collaborative innovation. It is hoped that this will be an opportunity to promote the establishment of closer and more stable cooperative relations between the two sides, focusing on deepening cooperation in scientific research, platform co-construction, talent training and achievement transformation, so as to achieve resource sharing, complementary advantages and coordinated development, and jointly provide strong support for the national energy strategic needs.
