In order to accelerate the implementation of the strategy of strengthening the college with talents and continue to broaden the channels for attracting overseas talents, from November 8th to 15th, Deans Professor Hou Jian, Professor Huang Wei'an, and Professor Wu Feipeng formed an overseas talent introduction group to carry out high-level talent recruitment and academic exchange activities in Singapore and Australia. Adhering to the principle of precise talent introduction, in-depth cooperation, and win-win development, this visit has successively visited 6 world-renowned universities, including the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Curtin University, the University of Western Australia, the University of Queensland, and the University of New South Wales. Successfully build a new bridge for talent cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.

During the period, the talent introduction group innovatively adopted the working mode of centralized publicity + precise docking, held a total of 6 special lectures, and systematically introduced the college's scientific research platform and talent policies in the direction of oil and gas engineering, carbon storage technology, and new energy interdisciplinary disciplines to the participating scholars. Hou Jian stressed that the college is taking the double first-class construction as an opportunity to create an internationally competitive development environment for young talents. The atmosphere of the seminar was warm, attracting the attention of more than 40 outstanding doctors and postdoctoral fellows from petroleum engineering, chemistry, mechanics, machinery, materials and other multidisciplinary fields.

Focusing on the actual needs of young scholars, the talent introduction group organized a number of group symposiums and one-on-one in-depth exchanges. Based on their own teaching and research experience, the members of the talent introduction group discussed face-to-face with young scholars on topics such as career development and scientific research direction, gave detailed answers to the questions of scientific research start-up funding and team support that scholars were concerned about, received a number of letters of intent on the spot, and established a three-level linkage mechanism between universities, colleges and individuals. A number of young overseas scholars said that through this in-depth exchange, they have a more comprehensive and systematic understanding of the talent policy and development platform of the School of Petroleum Engineering, and are full of expectations for joining the college in the future.

In order to further promote international exchanges and cooperation, the talent introduction team visited the laboratories of various universities and carried out multi-dimensional exchanges with professors and teams from relevant departments, focusing on topics such as teaching innovation, scientific research cooperation and interdisciplinary integration. During the exchange, the two sides exchanged views extensively on specific contents such as platform co-construction mechanism, laboratory management model, and resource sharing of multidisciplinary integrated experimental platforms. Many parties agreed that by strengthening platform sharing and interdisciplinary integration, complementary advantages can be formed in cutting-edge fields such as carbon neutrality and energy transition, and the effectiveness of international cooperation can be further enhanced.
