At the meeting, Guo Tiankui systematically introduced the preparation of the two documents of the 15th Five-Year Plan for the Reform and Development of the School of Petroleum Engineering (Draft for Comments) and the Decomposition of the Main Goals and Tasks of the 15th Five-Year Plan of the School of Petroleum Engineering, reviewed the progress made by the college in party building, talent training, faculty construction, scientific research and social services, international exchanges and cooperation during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and analyzed the current problems and shortcomings. Combined with the new challenges and development opportunities faced by the oil and gas engineering industry, the meeting fully discussed the development goals, tasks and guarantee mechanisms of the college during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Everyone actively made suggestions around the planning content and specific indicators, and put forward a number of constructive revision opinions and suggestions.

Before the meeting, the college has carried out several rounds of solicitation of opinions, and convened this meeting on the basis of feedback and revision and improvement of the members of the professor committee. The meeting further unified the thinking, gathered consensus, enhanced the scientific and feasible planning and preparation, and was of great significance to promoting the high-quality development of the college during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
