On January 6, the signing and unveiling ceremony of the Dagang Oilfield Branch-China University of Petroleum (East China) Sand Control and Completion Joint Laboratory was held in our school. Li Tao, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Information Department of Dagang Oilfield Branch, Liu Min, Vice President of the Petroleum Engineering Research Institute of Dagang Oilfield Branch, Wang Zhiyuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Petroleum Engineering, Zhang Xiangji, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department, Guo Tiankui, Vice President of the College, Professor Dong Changyin and relevant personnel attended the ceremony, and Guo Tiankui presided over the meeting.

On behalf of the college, Wang Zhiyuan extended a warm welcome to the experts of Dagang Oilfield Branch. He pointed out that Dagang Oilfield Branch and the college have long-term cooperation and exchanges and have given strong support to the college. On the basis of adhering to traditional oil and gas development, new progress has been made in the field of new energy development, contributing to the development of the national petroleum industry. He introduced in detail the basic situation of the college in discipline construction, talent training, scientific research, etc., as well as the construction results since the 14th Five-Year Plan. It is hoped that through the joint construction of laboratories, schools and enterprises will unite to expand and solidify scientific and technological cooperation, jointly undertake large projects, promote great achievements, and promote the development of sand control completion technology.

Liu Min expressed his gratitude to the school and the college for promoting the co-construction of the laboratory in the early stage. He said that the school and the enterprise have a good foundation for cooperation, and the construction of this joint laboratory has opened a new chapter in the cooperation between the two sides. At the same time, with the continuous development of oilfield recovery technology and deep oil and gas development technology, new challenges are posed to the completion process. It is expected that through the construction of the laboratory, a high-level scientific research and innovation platform will be built, and joint research will be carried out aiming at the key problems of on-site sand control. Establish a mechanism for the transformation of achievements to promote the efficient transformation of achievements. At the same time, through the mutual employment of schools and enterprises, and the establishment of talent training bases to promote the growth of outstanding talents in sand control and completion.

Sun Tao, secretary of the technical committee of the joint laboratory, introduced in detail the sand control and completion technology, experimental equipment, supporting software, and external market development of Dagang Oilfield, and expounded the 15th Five-Year Plan scientific and technological development plan and technical needs from the aspects of basic research, software upgrades, experimental research, technological breakthroughs, cost reduction and efficiency increase, and digital intelligence.

Professor Dong Changyin, deputy director of the joint laboratory, introduced the technical overview of the oil and gas flow solids control and production completion laboratory of our university and the construction plan of the joint laboratory. He pointed out that the development of different types of reservoirs is facing reservoir instability and sand production, resulting in well wall collapse, equipment damage and capacity loss, which seriously affects mining efficiency. On the basis of existing research, the two sides will carry out substantive cooperation on the construction of sand control and water control completion laboratories, scientific research, training of sand control completion technicians, and academic exchanges.
