Recently, in order to efficiently promote the 2026 scientific and technological achievement awards and the application of projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, further improve the awareness and enthusiasm of the college teachers' achievement awards and fund project applications, and improve the quality of the applications, the college organized two experience exchange meetings for the application of scientific and technological achievements and the application of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The meeting invited Professor Bai Yang of Southwest Petroleum University, Li Fulai and Daniel Zhang, Deputy Directors of the Science and Technology Department, and Professor Wang Sen and Professor Zhao Mingwei of the School of Petroleum Engineering to share their experience in awarding achievements and national funds, and interpreting the latest policies and key points. Daniel Zhang introduced the types of projects in the concentration period and non-concentration period of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the trend of application and funding rates in recent years, analyzed the changes in the application policies of general projects, youth funds, joint funds and other projects in 2026, gave a detailed explanation of the development of formal review work and the reasons for non-acceptance, and put forward suggestions for the writing content of cooperative units, representative paper labeling, and description of innovation points.

At the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan, the college further strengthened organized scientific research, built a full-chain scientific research management system of planning-project approval-transformation-reward, and ensured the orderly progress and high-quality development of various work through a series of measures such as early mobilization, policy publicity, guideline combing, broadening channels, and ensuring quantity and quality
