On May20, Minister Shen Weimin of the Economic and Technological Department ofthe Qingdao Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese visited the institutefor research and guidance. The construction of the Home for Overseas Chinese service base was accompanied by Vice Dean Pang Xueyu andZhang Qingqiangfrom the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee.

Research symposium

Pang Xueyu reported on the operationof the college's Home of Overseas Chinese service base enhancement project, introduced the basic situation of returned overseas teachers, the setup and utilization of the Home of Overseas Chinese venues, as well as the staffing and institutional development of relevant personnel. He stated that the college has always attached great importance to the introduction and service of overseas talent. Currently, more than half of the teachers are returning from overseas study or visiting studies, and the number of outstanding young overseas talents ranks among the top in the university. Next, the college willrely on the Home of Overseas Chinese service base to carry out overseas Chinese law publicity and networking activities, further polishing its work brand, refining measures, better serving teachers who have returned from overseas, and drawing the largest concentric circle.

Shen Weimin fully affirmed the construction of the college's Home for Overseas Chinese service baseand offered suggestions for further quality improvement and efficiency. Heemphasized the need to anchor themission and tasks of the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese in the new era, focus on improving quality and efficiency, emphasize ideological guidance, serve the overall situation, provide precise services for overseas Chinese, build distinctive brands, establish long-term mechanisms, strengthen atmosphere creation, and create a new model for grassroots Home for Overseas Chinese.

To implement the spirit of the 11th National Congress of Returned Overseas Chinese and Their Relatives and further promote the construction of physical service bases, the Qingdao Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese has decided to support the upgrading of a number of promising and dynamic Homes for Overseas Chinese. In 2025, the college will be selected for the Home of Overseas Chinese service base enhancement project, and will carry out base construction relying on the B245 conference room and coffee oil bar.
