On May22, Wang Zhiyuan, Party Secretary of the college, led a team to the Engineering Technology Research Institute of Daqing Drilling Engineering Co., Ltd. to conduct a school-enterprise cooperation visit and exchange. Vice Dean Pang Xueyu andeightothers participated in the exchange.

Xu Yunlong, Party Secretary of the Engineering Technology Research Institute of Daqing Drilling Engineering Co., Ltd., and Yang Xiutian, Vice President, along with15other enterprise experts, participated in the discussion and exchange. Vice President Yang Xiutian presided over the meeting.

Wang Haimiao, Director of the Technical Development Department of the Research Institute, introduced the development history and responsibilities of the Engineering Technology Research Institute of Daqing Drilling Engineering Co., Ltd. He discussed the research progress and achievements in drilling and completion technologies in areas such as controlled pressure drilling, ultra-short radius horizontal wells, Gulong shale oil, coalbed methane, deep and ultra-deep layers, and geothermal wells. He also gave a detailed overview of scientific equipment such as rotary guides and logging-while-drilling instruments, specialized drilling tool technologies, and the research and practical use of drilling fluid additives. It also provides a detailed explanation of the technical requirements currently faced in actual production.

On behalf of the school, Pang Xueyu gave a detailed introduction to the basic situation, achievements in construction since the 14th Five-Year Plan, and distinctive technological achievements. Liao Bo, Huang Weian, Pang Xueyu, Liu Yongwang, and Sun Xiaohui discussed five areas: AI-drivendrilling fluid synthesis, wellbore wall strengthening drilling fluid technology, ultra-high temperature cementing cement regulation technology, deep underground efficient rock breaking and precision guided drilling technology, and complex formation drilling well control technology. They provided detailed introductions to the research background and significance, current challenges, existing research achievements, future development trends, and prospects. Both parties engaged in lively discussions on technical hotspots and difficult issues.

During the visit, Wang Zhiyuan had a detailed conversation with Chen Shaoyun, Director of the Engineering Technology Research Institute of Daqing Drilling Engineering Co., Ltd. President Chen welcomed Secretary Wang and his delegation. He mentioned that as the Engineering Technology Staff Department and High-Tech R&D Center of Daqing Drilling, the institute looks forward to in-depth cooperation with the School of Petroleum Engineering in drilling theory, drilling technology, and drilling tools, focusing on solving bottlenecks in production and jointly tackling key issues to strengthen pragmatic cooperation.

Wang Zhiyuan stated that Daqing Drilling is an honorable name, and here he feels the inheritance and promotion of the Daqing spirit and the Iron Man spirit. He introduced the achievements the college has made in Party building work in recent years. He stated that this visit and exchange is the first organized visit between the college and the institute, and he looks forward to building on previous cooperation, deepening in-depth understanding of Party building leadership, technical needs, platform construction, and talent cultivation, laying a solid foundation for precise alignment and deepening cooperation in the next phase. We look forward to the two institutes establishing a stable exchange mechanism and maintaining a long-term, stable, and in-depth cooperative relationship.
