On June15, Dean Hou Jian of the college led a delegation to Xi'an University of Science and Technology for a visit and exchange. Vice Dean Jia Han, Vice Dean Zhang Liming, Vice Dean Guo Tiankui, and faculty representatives from internal departments attended the exchange.

Hou Jian and his delegation held discussions and exchanges with the School of Energy and Mining Engineering and the School of Safety Science and Engineering at Xi'an University of Science and Technology. Cui Feng warmly welcomed the college delegation and briefly introduced the basic situation of the School of Energy and Mining Engineering, sharing development features such as deep coal mining, complex coal seam mining, conventional coal seam mining, coal seam filling, and intelligent transformation.

In his speech, Lin Haifei expressed heartfelt gratitude for the school's ongoing care and support, and gave a detailed introduction to the basic situation of the School of Safety Science and Engineering in four areas: mine safety, chemical safety, energy storage safety, and urban safety.

The symposium mainly focused on discipline development, scientific research, talent cultivation, faculty teams, and project cooperation between both sides. Both sides engaged in in-depth exchanges and sharing, and reached multiple cooperation intentions on key aspects of discipline development such as changing the talent ecosystem, expanding academic connections, co-building courses, and joint achievement applications, based on progress since the 14th Five-Year Plan.

Hou Jian stated that this exchange is a valuable attempt to break down professional barriers and achieve interdisciplinary intersection. Xi'an University of Science and Technology has solid research capabilities and an outstanding talent team in the mining field. Through this exchange, both sides further understood the actual needs of the industry, laying a solid foundation for deepening cooperation and organized scientific research in the future. He mentioned: The disciplines of both sides have certain similarities and complementarity. Next, cooperation should first be strengthened through joint applications for major research projects, while further exploring joint talent training models, enhancing national-level talent application work, continuously promoting platform resource sharing, and promoting long-term, stable, deep, and lasting cooperation between both sides.

During the exchange, the delegation visited the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Western Mine Mining and Disaster Prevention at Xi'an University of Science and Technology, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the development and current status of coal technology in western China, laying a solid foundation for further in-depth cooperation.
