Recently, Wang Xiangzeng, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chief Scientist and Chief Geologist of Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co., Ltd., and his delegation visited the institute for research and guidance. Members of the school's leadership team accompanied the research and participated in a symposium, with President Hou Jian presiding over the symposium.

Hou Jian warmly welcomed and sincerely thanked AcademicianWang Xiangzeng and his delegation for their visit. He introduced the basic situation of the college, systematically reviewed its recent achievements in talent cultivation, scientific research innovation, platform construction, achievement transformation, and school-enterprise cooperation, focused on the phased progress and future development plans of high-end research platform construction, and, combining the school's educational characteristics and industry development needs, explained the ideas and directions for deepening comprehensive and multi-level cooperation between the university and enterprises.

Party Secretary Wang Zhiyuan expressed gratitude for Academician Wang Xiangzeng's long-term care and support for the university and college, expressed great confidence in the beautiful vision of school-enterprise joint progress and joint development, and hoped both sides would continue to improve normalized communication and collaboration mechanisms, jointly tackle technological breakthroughs around cutting-edge industrial topics, jointly cultivate high-level innovative talents, achieve resource sharing and complementary advantages through deep integration, and jointly support high-quality industry development.  

Jia Han reported on the construction of carbon storage majors and the compilation of textbooks

Vice Dean Jia Han gave a special report on two key tasks: the construction of carbon storage science and engineering majors and the compilation of professional textbooks. He elaborated in detail on the construction history of the carbon storage major, the establishment of the talent training system, teaching and research achievements, and current development bottlenecks. He introduced preliminary research, outline sorting, and content compilation progress for textbook compilation, and proposed plans and innovative development plans for the program in line with quality upgrades, high-quality textbook development, and optimization of teaching resources.

Academician Wang Xiangzeng highly affirmed and praised the high-quality development achievements of the university and college. He stated that through on-site visits to the university history museum and laboratories, combined with special work reports, he deeply felt the college's solid educational foundation, strong development momentum, and clear research layout for talent cultivation. He pointed out that Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum and China University of Petroleum (East China) have deep ties and deep friendship, maintaining close exchanges and cooperation over the long term, with fruitful results in school-enterprise collaborative education and scientific research breakthroughs. Based on the high-quality development of the energy industry and the overall development of the dual carbon strategy, he hopes both sides will continue to deepen strategic cooperation, focus on key areas such as joint application for major scientific research projects, collaborative transformation of scientific and technological achievements, expansion of horizontal scientific research cooperation, construction of industry-university-research integration platforms, and joint cultivation of high-quality professional talents, innovate school-enterprise cooperation models, enrich the content of cooperation, and create benchmark models for industry-wide collaborative innovation and talent cultivation.

Hou Jian delivered the concluding speech. He first thanked Academician Wang Xiangzeng and Yanchang Petroleum Group for their long-term care and support for the college's construction and development. He stated that the academician's guidance is pragmatic and aligns with industry trends, pointing the way and providing guidance for discipline development, professional development, and school-enterprise cooperation. The college will carefully review and absorb valuable suggestions, focus on the strengths of its disciplines, closely follow industrial development needs, continuously strengthen the foundation of major construction, optimize the talent training system, and enhance research and innovation capabilities. At the same time, the college will take this research as an opportunity to further deepen its strategic cooperation with Yanchang Petroleum, proactively connect with enterprises' technological breakthroughs and talent reserve needs, promote deep integration of industry, academia, and research, complement resource advantages, work together to tackle key industry technical challenges, cultivate high-level scientific research achievements, and jointly nurture top innovative talents.
