On the morning of July 8, the National Science and Technology Awards Conference, the Academicians Conference of the Two Academicians, and the 11th National Congress of the China Association for Science and Technology were grandly held in Beijing. General Secretary Xi Jinping presented awards to recipients of the country's highest science and technology awards and delivered important speeches. The project Key Technologies and Applications for Water Control and Oil Enhancement in Temperature-Resistant and Salt-Resistant Gel Dispersion System, led by Professor Dai Caili and participated in by Professor Zhao Guang, won the National Technology Invention Second Prize.

Since its application, the Key Technologies and Applications of Water Control and Oil Enhancement in Temperature-Resistant and Salt-Resistant Gel Dispersion Systems has been widely applied in domestic and international oilfields through technology development and service cooperation with oilfield production units of the three major oil companies, as well as patent licensing from oil service companies. The results have been remarkable, providing important support for ensuring national oil and gas supply security.

The 2025 National Science and Technology Award will select 258 projects and 11 science and technology experts. Among them, 2 recipients of the National Highest Science and Technology Award; 51 National Natural Science Awards, including 3 first prizes and 48 second prizes; There are 58 National Technological Invention Awards, including 3 first prizes and 55 second prizes; There are 149 National Science and Technology Progress Awards, including 3 special prizes, 13 first prizes, and 133 second prizes; Nine individuals were awarded the People's Republic of China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.
